I’ve been thinking about lipstick lately. It started a few weeks ago when a young seminary classmate complimented me on my lipstick. At age 49, I am older than most of my classmates, and tend to come to class a little more put together than the average fresh-out-of-undergrad student. This friendly comment reminded me of a similar comment I heard while serving as Director of Children’s Ministry at First Presbyterian, Arlington.

Last month’s Easter celebration provided the bookend to Holy Week, the most sacred but spiritually divisive week of the year. We Christians used this time to focus on the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus – the one we believe to be the Messiah and son of God.
